During the class, you will learn practical, person-centered strategies for preventing and responding to difficult situations in a safe and respectful way.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eGeneral OIS Certification\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eALSO provides this OIS training for people who support adults experiencing intellectual or developmental disabilities. This training is not intended for those supporting individuals under the age of 18.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis class provides the \u003cstrong\u003eGeneral OIS Certificate\u003c\/strong\u003e, which includes selected hands-on interventions such as escapes, deflections, grab releases, and physical positioning. Most of the training focuses on information shared through instruction, activities, and discussion. A portion of the class is dedicated to learning physical safety skills that may be used during crisis situations.
